Quantum computers aren’t built in a day. Certainly not without a Team Lead for our Qubit Labs to shape our application roadmap.

What will you do?

Qblox is a deep tech scale-up accelerating the race toward scalable quantum computers. We develop the world’s most advanced quantum control stacks—technology used by R&D teams across the globe to push the boundaries of physics and computing. Our products combine precision electronics, FPGA systems, and proprietary sequence processors to control thousands of qubits with nanosecond accuracy.


Qblox control stacks combine hardware with excellent analog performance with easy to use software. This entails unrivalled noise and drift performance, a low-latency arbitrary control flow and scalability up to 1000s of qubits. The control stack generates the analogue pulses (DC to 18 GHz) needed for the control and readout of qubits. These analogue signals are generated from 1000s of parallel channels and driven by our proprietary sequence processor technology. The technology we are developing is compatible with a broad range of qubit technologies (superconducting, spin, NV-centres, cold atoms).


To control so many qubits, we developed a modular system packed with high-end FPGAs that are synchronized with nanosecond precision, high-speed digital interfaces to multi-gigasample dataconverters, and ultra low-noise and low drift analog (RF) circuits. The FPGAs contain, among other things, our proprietary sequence processors that generate the pulses that control the quantum hardware. To interface with our equipment, we develop a software stack consisting of low-level drivers, compilers and assemblers written in C/C++ and higher-level tools written in Python.

The Qubit Labs Team is responsible for running and maintaining a superconducting and spin qubit lab, developing and maintaining the application toolkit for all qubit domains , and executing strategic integration work with partners.

As a Team Lead for the Qubits Labs, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor the work for a team of quantum application engineers focused on application development.

  • Set clear expectations, assign tasks, and apply metrics to triage and prioritize resources and workflow.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and find opportunities for training and development.

  • Be an ambassador for Qblox company values and translate them to the team’s day-to-day activities.

  • Develop a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge exchange.

  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership, and other stakeholders to optimize prioritization and resource allocation.

  • Coordinate with other teams and departments to ensure smooth workflows and timely delivery of tasks and projects.

  • Proactively drive process and infrastructure improvements

  • Shape Qblox’ qubit research roadmap for different qubit modalities with input from commercial stakeholders.

  • Act as a product owner for the Qblox application toolkit.

  • Represent the team internally and externally (e.g. for partnerships or at conferences)

Job requirements

Enough about us, what about you?
To really enjoy the role, we anticipate that you will possess the following demonstrated skills:

  • PhD in Physics or a related field, preferably a background in multiple qubit modalities.

  • Experience in building and debugging experimental setups with RF signals, microwaves, DC equipment, cryostats, QPUs, and other general lab equipment.

  • Experience in mentoring of individuals, team lead experience, is always a plus

  • Excellent decision making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, international teams — across time zones and cultural boundaries.

  • Enthusiastic about working directly with partners, identifying emerging needs, and contributing to early-stage technical discussions.

  • A drive to stay up to date with scientific literature in quantum technology, specifically on superconducting circuits
