What will you do?
Are you interested in quantum technology and eager to make an impact in the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing? Qblox is seeking a talented Quantum Application Engineer to join our team in Boston, US.
The company
Qblox is a deep tech scale-up whose mission is to accelerate the worldwide race towards building scalable quantum computers. We do this by providing the world's best quantum control stacks.
We combine hardware with excellent analog performance with easy to use software. We develop a modular system packed with high-end FPGAs that are synchronized with nanosecond precision, high-speed digital interfaces to multi-gigasample data converters, and ultra low-noise and low drift analog (RF) circuits. The FPGAs contain, among other things, our proprietary sequence processors that generate the pulses that control the quantum hardware.
To interface with our equipment, we develop a software stack consisting of low-level drivers, compilers and assemblers written in C/C++ and higher-level tools written in Python.
Our products are used by R&D teams globally to accelerate the development of operational quantum computers and quantum networks. The technology we are developing is compatible with a broad range of qubit technologies.
What will you do?
As a Quantum Application Engineer at Qblox, you will play a central role in connecting our product development to the marketing and sales organization. Your responsibilities will focus on developing and detailing use cases from our customers, acting as a second (or third) line of support for our customers. Furthermore, within the application engineering team you are responsible for testing and validating the newly developed products, giving technical training to the sales and support workforce and developing and maintaining the application toolkit. You are based in Boston and working in a global team that is led from HQ in Delft. You will serve as a connection between the two offices. For this you are expected to travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Key Responsibilities:
Train the application scientists and success engineers on the current product portfolio and the new product developments.
Serve as an advanced user for second line of support for quantum success engineers, and to support advanced technical customer conversations.
Develop new tools and libraries for specific qubit platforms, for example Superconducting or Spin or Optically addressed qubits.
Test quantum hardware and software: Conduct thorough testing of new features of our software and hardware, benchmark system performance, and do experimental validation by running experiments with the Qblox hardware to offer valuable feedback to developers.
Develop tutorials, documentation, and experiment examples: Develop compelling application examples for quantum computing experiments, including next gen instrument’s documentation.
Represent the user perspective in the product development: liaise with the product team and development teams to define the features and functionality that matches real experimental workflows to be developed.
Own the tests setups in the US, both the loopback setup in Boston and the shared qubit setup in Denver.
Why Join Qblox in Boston?
Join a heavily funded, rapidly growing deep-tech company at the ground floor of its US expansion.
