Qblox is seeking talented Junior Quantum Application Engineers to join our team. At Qblox, we specialize in delivering cutting-edge scalable quantum control stacks, powering the analog signals crucial for controlling and reading all quantum systems.


As a Junior Quantum Application Engineer at Qblox, you will play a central role in bridging the gap between instrument developers, software engineers, and customer support. Your responsibilities will focus on enhancing current designs and anticipating future user needs, ensuring seamless experiment development for our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Libraries: Together with senior application engineers and software engineers, develop software and experiment libraries for various qubit types, simplifying the user journey and ensuring reliability.
  • Maintain the documentation: Expand and maintain the documentation of our hardware and software, as well as our ever growing library of tutorials.
  • Research: Together with senior application engineers, you can get hands-on experience in our superconducting and spin qubit labs.
  • Testing and Feedback: Be the first to field test new hardware or software features.

Job requirements

Your Profile:


To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Educational Background: M.Sc. in Physics, Computer Engineering or similar, with a background in quantum information and computation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills.
  • Programming Proficiency: Skilled in programming with Python.
  • Passion for Learning and Sharing: A genuine enthusiasm for learning, sharing knowledge, and thoughtful problem-solving.
  • Lab experience with superconducting or spin qubits is helpful.
  • Experience with git, quantify or qcodes is helpful.
  • Experience with RF electronics is helpful.
