Qblox is growing and we are on the lookout for an OFFICE MANAGER


Qblox develop high-tech control stacks for quantum computers, pivotal in generating the precise analogue signals necessary for the control and readout of quantum bits within quantum computing and networking environments. If you know what that means - fantastic! But if you have no idea - that’s great too! Not everyone that works for us is a Quantum Engineer.

To achieve our goals, we are rapidly scaling, which brings new challenges everyday. We have the goal to increase our team from 100 to 220 by the end of next year. This means that the Office Manager role will change over time, offering the opportunity to develop and grow with us.

We need someone who is pragmatic and can see what needs to be done. As a changing organisation, the role will require flexibility as you collaborate with our People Team, our Operations and our Facilities Manager to build new processes and shape the future of our office. Reporting to our Head of People, your input will be highly valued and we want to provide the opportunity for you to have a lasting impact on our work and environment. We have lots of internal examples of people taking the chance to lead projects they have suggested.


It's important to know upfront that taking care of Qblox daily office management tasks and ensuring our workplace runs smoothly isn't all glitz and glamour! As we grow and establish ourselves you will need to get involved in practical, day-to-day elements - taking responsibility and getting things done.


For this role, we anticipate having someone in the office a minimum of 3 days a week and in general we offer very flexible working patterns to support parents or carers, and are happy to look at a 32hour working week.


Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

We are looking for a confident and reliable Office Manager who can deal well with technical and international colleagues, such as researchers and engineers. Taking over administrative and office-based tasks and events, you will be flexible, independent and able to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.

  • Organizing internal and external activities, such as team building events.
  • Supporting the onboarding of new employees and updating of office policies.
  • Receive deliveries and distribute mail.
  • Coordinate office maintenance and repairs as needed with Facilities.
  • Managing office supplies and ensuring new stock is ordered on time.
  • Receiving visitors and planning events, ensuring meeting rooms are prepared.
  • Providing (catered) lunches.
  • Helping with office relocations.
  • General support of the People, Operations and Facilities Teams

We expect that to enjoy this role you are likely to have some of the following in your background:

  • Previous demonstrated experience (2-4+ years) in an Office Support position is essential.
  • We are looking for someone with the right mentality, meaning; pragmatic, with initiative, confident.
  • Good communication skills to be able to kindly influence our team and a knack for injecting humour into everyday situations is a plus :)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Proficiency in English is required, Dutch and/or any other languages are always helpful.
