Quantum Computers aren’t built in a day. Especially not without a great Project Manager to keep things on track.

What will you do?

(12-month FTC) Part-timers welcome!

Are you driven by the thrill of bringing ambitious, novel products from concept to launch? Do you possess an almost obsessive eye for detail and a knack for orchestrating complex technical projects from start to finish?

Join Qblox as we revolutionize the landscape of quantum computing! We're not just building technology; we're actively pushing the boundaries to create industrial-scale quantum computers. This means you'll be instrumental in driving new tech forward, collaborating with some of the smartest people on the planet, and helping us seize market opportunities in an incredibly exciting industry.

Where you come in:

As a Project Manager focused on our ground-breaking Gen 2 program, you'll be the linchpin, translating visionary product requirements into executable plans. You'll take ownership of complex projects, guiding them from initial conception (with an 80% certainty of technical success) all the way through to the first production run. This is a hands-on role where you'll orchestrate resources, tasks, budgets, and schedules for potentially two concurrent projects. You'll work closely with our development teams and product owner, acting as the vital interface between our engineers and non-engineers, fuelled by your genuine intellectual curiosity. You'll specifically manage crucial outsourced hardware contracts alongside internal software development initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Drive Conception to Manufacturing: Oversee your assigned projects from initial concept through to the first production run, managing project team resources to deliver success on time and on budget.

  • Orchestrate Development: Work closely with the program manager and other project team members to identify relevant project deliverables. Proactively plan, estimate, and sequence logical units of work inside the Qblox Product Lifecycle Management system, finding logical divisions of work within domain functions.

  • Manage External & Internal Teams: Plan, manage, and hold external subcontractors to account, alongside coordinating internal development efforts (specifically hardware and software).

  • Guard the Truths: Constantly maintain product and technical requirements as the "truths" of the project. Help identify risks, known unknowns, and develop risk mitigation strategies throughout the project cycle.

  • Drive Progress & Accountability: Operate on a project scrum cycle, target effective resource utilization, and minimize blocking interdependencies. Be a self-starter who actively contributes to moving the project forward, finding and filling gaps to allow work to proceed.

  • Communicate & Document: Manage Jira boards, Confluence spaces, Slack channels, and other communication and documentation tools related to your projects. Communicate openly and often, don't be afraid to ask questions or convey news (good or bad), always targeting first principles thinking.

  • Report Accurately: Provide accurate reports on the status of the project, resource effectiveness, and resource utilization to program and executive levels.

Measures of your success:

  • Delivery of projects according to schedule and budget.

  • Internal customer feedback, serving as a multiplier effect on domain work performance.

  • Accuracy of project reporting.

  • External customer feedback, contributing to product Net Promoter Score.

Why you'll love it here:

  • Ignite Your Drive: You'll be working in the most exciting industry right now – quantum computing – a true deep tech frontier.

  • Drive the Future: This is your chance to directly drive new product development (NPD) from concept to manufacturing, shaping the tools that unlock unprecedented quantum power. We're not system integrators; we build novel electronics from the ground up.

  • Collaborate with Brilliance: Work alongside some of the smartest, most innovative minds on the planet.

  • Unleash Potential: The market is bursting with opportunity, offering you immense scope to develop personally and build our business globally.

Job requirements

Enough about us, what about you?

To truly excel and lead projects in this role, we envision you'll bring the following demonstrated skills and experience:

The Non-Negotiables:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business. Minimum 4 years of project management experience, with additional consideration given to hardware development experience.

  • Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of project management principles (Program, Project, Product management), with proven success in delivering complicated projects from concept to manufacturer (NPD, not just system integration).

  • Tool Savvy: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with project and reporting tools like Jira, Confluence, and Excel, or other complex team integration tools.

  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: An inexhaustible supply of energy to dig down into the details and ensure precision.

What Else Makes You Shine:

  • Technical Acumen: Strong technical skills and familiarity with engineering concepts, with a technical background in digital design, RF, or embedded engineering being a significant plus (especially familiarity with RF).

  • Influence & Accountability: Ability to work across technical and functional boundaries, influence, and inspire team members to succeed. Proven ability to establish expectations and hold team members accountable in a professional manner.

  • Problem Solver: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, pursuing positive ideas and questioning assumptions.

  • Communication Pro: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowing when to maintain decision-making authority and when to escalate problems.

  • Resilience & Growth Mindset: Ability to take criticism and ownership of failure, while praising others for success.

  • Background Alignment: Experience from companies focused on novel, electronic manufacturing would be a strong advantage.
