What will you do?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive HBO IT student to combine practical work experience with their studies in a dynamic, high-tech environment. As our Servicedesk & On-site Support Intern, you will work 4 days a week at Qblox, acting as the first point of contact for IT-related queries and providing crucial support to our team. The remaining day is for your school commitments, allowing you to directly apply your learning. You'll learn from experienced IT professionals, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies and modern IT practices.

This internship offers a unique chance to learn, contribute, and potentially grow with us – we are keen to offer a permanent position to an intern who excels and demonstrates a strong fit with our team and values.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities over 4 days/week):

  • User Support: Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from Qblox employees, providing timely and friendly assistance via ticketing system, chat, email, or in person.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware (laptops, peripherals), software (macOS, Windows, standard applications), and basic network connectivity issues.

  • Device Preparation & Deployment: Assist with setting up and configuring new laptops (macOS, Windows) and mobile devices for new employees.

  • Account Management Assistance: Support the Joiner/Mover/Leaver (JML) process by assisting with user account creation, modification, and de-provisioning in systems like Google Workspace, Slack, and other SaaS applications under guidance.

  • SaaS Application Support: Provide basic support and guidance for core company applications (e.g., password resets, access requests, basic feature usage).

  • Inventory & Asset Management: Help maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and accessories.

  • Documentation: Assist in creating and updating user guides, IT procedures, and knowledge base articles.

  • On-site Support: Provide hands-on support for office IT equipment, including meeting room AV systems and printers.

  • Learning & Development: Actively participate in learning opportunities, shadow senior IT staff, and develop your skills in areas like device management, cloud services, and IT security.

Job requirements

What You Bring to the Team (Requirements):

  • Currently enrolled in an HBO-level study program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, which allows for a 4-day work week combined with 1 study day.

  • A genuine passion for technology and a strong desire to learn and apply your knowledge.

  • Basic understanding of macOS and Windows operating systems.

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.

  • Basic Problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) in English; Dutch is a plus.

  • Customer-focused attitude with a patient and helpful demeanor.

  • Proactive, organized, and eager to take initiative.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management).

  • Basic understanding of cloud services (e.g., Google Workspace).

  • Initial exposure to scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, or Python) is a bonus but not required.

  • Interest in IT security concepts.
