What will you do?

FPGA Architect – Shape the Future of Quantum Computing

At Qblox, we're not just building quantum computers; we're building the future of quantum computing. We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible, developing cutting-edge control stacks that empower researchers worldwide to unlock the full potential of quantum technology. And we're looking for a talented FPGA Architect to join our team and play a key role in shaping that future.

The Challenge:

Imagine architecting the digital heart of a system that controls thousands of qubits with nanosecond precision. That's the challenge you'll tackle at Qblox. You'll be designing the next generation of our FPGA-based control systems, pushing the limits of performance, scalability, and reliability. This isn't just about designing circuits; it's about enabling breakthroughs in quantum science and engineering. At Qblox, we encourage our team members to bring their own ideas and ways of working to the table, so you'll have the opportunity to truly shape the future of our technology.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with a team of world-class architects and engineers across multiple disciplines (RF, electrical, software, and more) to co-create the architecture and design for our next-generation quantum control systems.
  • Focus on the FPGA/digital architecture, with opportunities to extend your expertise into embedded software.
  • Translate market requirements into robust and scalable system architectures and designs.
  • Drive the development of these architectures and designs throughout the R&D department, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Contribute to the generation of IP and understand the IP landscape surrounding our products.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Job requirements

Enough about us, what about you?

In order to really make the most of the role, we imagine that you will have a background encompassing the following:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience as an FPGA/Digital System Architect in a relevant domain (processor design, RF, serial interfaces, digital signal processing, etc.). We understand that quantum-specific experience may be limited, and we encourage applications from candidates with strong transferable skills.
  • Deep understanding of FPGA design flows and verification.
  • Strong command of VHDL, Verilog, and C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: system engineering, RF, CPU architecture, digital signal processing, high-speed data converters, serial interfaces/communication protocols (JESD, Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, RDMA, MGT).
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to work at the forefront of quantum technology, contributing to groundbreaking advancements that will shape the future.
  • A collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment where you'll work alongside some of the brightest minds in the field.
  • A chance to learn and grow rapidly in a fast-paced, scaling organization.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work is making a real difference in the world.
